How about kicking off the last day of June with some new pictures of Marlene Dietrich by Nick, Jane, and Frédéric?  The photographers were William Walling, Jr. and George Hurrell.

Here's another beautiful scan of Shirley Temple in The Blue Bird, and a dramatic George Hurrell photo of Joan Crawford, from davelandweb.com.

Karl returns with pictures of:

• Bette Davis in Jezebel, and a posed shot

• Olivia de Havilland, in scenes from The Adventures of Robin Hood and Dodge City (both with Errol Flynn), as well as a posed shot

Heroic Mark2 sent us a sensational shot of Nell O'Day.  Va Va Voom!

Jane winds down our Ginger Rogers parade with two last shots, and two final photos of Sophia Loren.

We end with another interesting short starring Thelma Todd and ZaSu Pitts, titled Let's Do Things.  Eagle-eyed viewers will recognize the opening sequence (camera panning from department store marquee down to the store interior) as being the same as in the opening moments of Clara Bow's 1927 film IT.  [Note:  video removed 12/3/2006]

• Marion Davies (3 pictures, including one with Patsy Kelly from Page Miss Glory)

Here's our daily fix of Ginger Rogers (3 pictures) and Sophia Loren (from Boy on a Dolphin), from Jane.

We have two original hand-tinted photos of Shirley Temple from 1940's The Blue Bird.  She's pictured with Johnny Russell.  These two interesting images emanated from glass slides circa 1941.  We doff our hat to davelandweb.com for these fine pictures.

We've also got some film clips:

• Louise Brooks and Lawrence Gray in Love 'Em and Leave 'Em.  Gray works as a window dresser in a department store, and his girlfriend is Brooks' sister.  In this scene, Brooks is out to seduce him any way she can.  Catch how she creates fake tears by extracting water from a fishbowl.  High camp!  This clip is made available courtesy of Rich at Sunrise Silents.  Be sure to check out their neat website.

Karl's scanner is on fire!  Check out his new images of Clara Bow in Wings (shown with Buddy Rogers) and Louise Brooks in Love 'Em and Leave 'Em.

Nick, Jane, and Frédéric provided three great scans of Clark Gable.

Allen made a correction to a Ramon Novarro photo we posted on June 26.  It's from his 1931 film Daybreak—not Mata Hari.  Special thanks to Sever, who questioned our original attribution...he gets an A+ for his help!

Here's another nice scan of a relatively unknown actress, by Mark2:  Constance Dowling (circa 1943).

Jane continues the Ginger Rogers-a-thon with two more photos, including one of her as a juvenile in Kitty Foyle.  She has another of Sophia Loren as well.

Nick, Jane, and Frédéric submitted images of Robert Montgomery (with photographer George Hurrell in the background), Robert Taylor, and Mae West in Goin' to Town (1935).

Once more, Jane has some nice photos of Ginger Rogers (3 pictures).  And she threw in two more Sophia Loren scans—what a gal!

Mark2 returns with a picture of Linda Brent from the 1942 film Arabian Nights, posted today for Dick.

Nick, Jane, and Frédéric are back at it with:

• Two Ramon Novarro scans, including one from Mata Hari [corrected to Daybreak on June 28]

Let's start with a photo of three late 1920's starlets, sent in by Mark2:  (L to R) Rosina Lawrence, Frances Lee, and Louise Green.

Here are three nice shots of Claudette Colbert from Karl, including two famous scenes:  hitchhiking with Clark Gable in It Happened One Night, and the milk bath from The Sign of the Cross (cover your eyes, kiddies!).

Jane has two more Ginger Rogers scans for us, as well as one of Sophia Loren.

Nick, Jane, and Frédéric mustered up two more nice pictures of Jean Harlow, by photographer George Hurrell.

There are seven new desktop wallpapers from Steve:  Mary Astor, Charlie Chaplin, Claudette Colbert, Bill 'Bojangles' Robinson, Jane Russell, Norma Shearer, and Orson Welles.

Check out some new songs by Jeanette MacDonald.  These are dedicated to Graciana.

We start off with some spiffy pictures from Nick, Jane, and Frédéric, by photographer George Hurrell:  Wallace Beery and Veronica Lake (2 pictures).

Jane sent us several Ginger Rogers images.  Here are the first two.  She also threw in (at no extra charge) a photo of Spencer Tracy visiting Rosalind Russell.

Steve has desktop wallpapers of Una Merkel and Louella Parsons today.

• Adele Jergens clowning with Lou and Bud, in Abbott and Costello Meet the Invisible Man.  Check out the film clip too.  In this sequence, Adele and Lou are hoodwinking each other under the guise of flirting.

• Jean Rogers (of Flash Gordon fame)

Jane has nice pictures of Vivien Leigh (from Gone With the Wind), and Charlie Chaplin (from Modern Times).

Justin sent us this Barbara Stanwyck image.  [It appears to be from a movie—does anyone know which one?]
