Let's start with a new face:
Paul Muni.
We have four pictures of the venerable actor, including
I
Am a Fugitive From a Chain Gang
(1932),
Scarface (1932), and two posed shots.
Richard sent us three more international actresses:
Next, more eclectic offerings from Nick:
Enjoy these film clips:
-
King Kong (1933) - We upgraded the existing clips and added two more
exciting scenes from this famous film: Kong's unveiling onstage,
and his final stand at the top of the Empire State Building
-
Kiss Them for Me (1957) - A group of WWII flyers, with
Cary Grant in charge, rent a hotel suite, get comfortable, and then
are set upon by flirtatious, curvaceous, bodacious
Jayne Mansfield who's looking for nylon stockings—and what better
way to end things than with...a party!
-
Living in a Big Way (1947) - Returning WWII soldier
Gene Kelly tries to resettle into civilian life with his wife (Marie
McDonald), but she gives him the brush off and tells him she's
become "selfish and spoiled" in his absence—you just gotta love her!
-
The Raven (1963) -
Boris Karloff hosts a magical dinner, but
Peter Lorre ends up as a smoking puddle, while
Vincent Price looks on with Jack Nicholson (who has virtually
nothing to do in this scene)
-
Sadie McKee (1934) - We have two clips of scheming
Joan Crawford winning
over tipsy Edward Arnold, while suspicious
Franchot Tone tries to warn
him about her wiles—also look for butler Leo G. Carroll long before his
"Topper" days on television
-
The Sound of Music (1965) - Sever prepared seven
scintillating snippets, comprising
many memorable magical moments from this famous fabulous film, which starred
Julie Andrews,
Christopher Plummer, and all those kiddies
-
Tarzan's Secret Treasure (1941) - Three clips feature the
familiar arboreal antics of jungle quartet
Johnny Weissmuller,
Maureen O'Sullivan,
Johnny Sheffield, and Cheeta. This time they've found gold on the
premises and must keep the evil outsiders from plundering the
treasure—also watch for Barry Fitzgerald in an unlikely role as Cheeta's
foil
-
Vitaphone Shorts - 3 of the little jewels:
So You Want a Television Set
(1953),
So You Want to Learn to Dance
(1953), and
Surprise! (1935)
